Berne,
IN — The Indiana Bankers
Association has named Deon Shoaf recipient of the Prochnow Educational
Foundation/Indiana Bankers Association Scholarship. Shoaf,
AVP Deposit Operations Officer with First Bank of Berne, Berne
Main Office location, will receive a $1,250 scholarship for each of the
three years of the Graduate School of Banking at the University of
Wisconsin-Madison. Deon was
one of only two bankers from the state of Indiana who were awarded
scholarships from the program this year.
This $3,750
scholarship, established and funded by the Herbert V. Prochnow

“The banking
industry and the communities we serve have a bright future because of
the leadership of bankers such as Deon Shoaf,” said Laurie Rees of the
Indiana Bankers Association. “This scholarship is in recognition of
his leadership in his bank and the communities it serves,” Rees
continued.
The Herbert V.
Prochnow Educational Foundation, a not-for-profit support organization
to the Graduate School of Banking, has promoted the growth of banker
education throughout the United States.
