First Bank of Berne Plans Branch in Van Wert, Ohio

Berne, IN —First Bank of Berne has purchased land on the north side of Van Wert, OH to construct a 4500 square foot branch, as reported by bank president Charles Isch.  The bank office will have three drive-up lanes as well as a drive-up ATM machine. Employing up to twelve people, the new office will be a full service branch offering all deposit and loan accounts.  Rob Gamble, a Van Wert native, will be the Branch Manager of the new office.

Plans are made to break ground this summer at the Towne Center area, located on the north side of US 30 near the new Super Wal-Mart.  The proposed site is located east of US 127 south of McDonald’s.
